You will have the opportunity to gain a Nationally Recognised Qualification through a combination of formal training and practical on-the-job experience with ongoing mentoring and support by qualified Council staff.Please note employment for the position will be for the duration of the apprenticeship only. Required skills & experience To be successful in this position, you should have a willingness to learn and the commitment to complete a Nationally Recognised Qualification (Certificate III in Engineering â Mechanical Trade) with TAFE NSW. You should possess strong analytical and problem solving skills; competent literacy and numeracy skills; basic computer skills; great attention to detail; a strong commitment to safety and upholding of Council’s organisational values of Passion, Integrity, Innovation, Communication, Respect and Collaboration. Key accountabilities include Undertake and complete a Certificate III in Engineering â Mechanical Trade.Exhibit a high-quality work ethic and integrity, together with a willingness to learn and adapt to a variety of work tasks.Practical application of the skills in the workplace assisting Council’s Mechanical Fitters in the servicing and repairs of Council’s Water and Wastewater Assets.Maintain in good condition any of the Council’s equipment under the control of the employee.Assist in maintaining the work area in a safe and tidy manner.
