About UsKempsey is located halfway between Sydney and Brisbane on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales and is known for its genuine hospitality, pristine beaches, sub-tropical rainforests, mountain ranges, rock river gorges, sprawling farmland and peaceful villages.The OpportunityAwarded Employer of Choice in 2019 and 2021, a fantastic opportunity exists for a Motor Mechanic to join our Workshop team on a temporary basis.Reporting to the Team Leader Workshop, the Motor Mechanic will be responsible for servicing and repairing plant, fleet and equipment in Council’s workshop and on location, ensuring that assets are maintained in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications to optimise the value and performance of Council’s fleet / plant investments.About you To be successful in this position, you will possess a Trade Certificate as a Plant/Motor Mechanic; Motor Vehicle Repairers Licence (MVRIC Certificate); Certification as an air conditioning repairer; current General Construction Induction Certificate (White Card); and hold and maintain a current NSW drivers licence (class MR or HR desirable).You will also have experience in repairing heavy plant and earthmoving equipment; proven operational knowledge of a workshop environment; experience in repairing small plant (eg mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws); intermediate Microsoft Office skills; be physically fit to perform the duties; and the ability to supervise, motivate and develop apprentices.
