About UsKempsey Shire Council is located on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales and is known for its genuine hospitality, pristine beaches, sub-tropical rainforests, mountain ranges, rock river gorges, sprawling farmland and peaceful villages.The OpportunityAwarded Employer of Choice in the Macleay Valley Business Awards in 2019 and 2021, Council has a fantastic opportunity available for a Trainee Administration Officer to join the Development and Compliance team.Reporting to the Team Leader Office Support, the Trainee Administration Officer will provide administrative support including word processing, customer service, generation of approvals, certificates, updating data and registers in Council’s systems relevant to the functions of the Development and Compliance Team.To be successful in this role you will possess Year 12 Higher School Certificate or equivalent; customer service experience; intermediate Microsoft Office skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.Previous Local Government experience would be highly regarded however not essential.On offerIn return, you will be rewarded by:Temporary, Full-time position, 35 hours per week with 19-day monthLearning and Development programsA supportive environment to complete your studiesA fantastic lifestyle and work life balance Key accountabilities include Provide administration support services to technical officers in Council’s Development and Compliance team.Perform administrative and associated tasks including registration of various applications for approval, updating registers including eg.
