Your New Role:
Are you passionate about environmental sustainability and committed to ensuring the efficient management of waste resources? Join our team as a Waste Services Operator and play a crucial role in maintaining the functionality of our Kempsey Landfill Management Centre, whilst promoting the efficient collection, disposal and management of waste materials within our community.
In this role, you'll experience a diverse range of tasks every day - including working at different transfer stations from time to time, operating machinery, managing weighbridge operations, handling waste management and performing administrative duties. Each day promises a fresh set of tasks and experiences, ensuring that no two days are alike!
Key responsibilities include:
· Providing education and direction to customers in relation to load separation.
· Identifying waste types and waste streams, removing unsuitable waste from designated waste streams.
· Operating machinery including landfill compactors, excavators, front-end loaders, forklifts, telehandlers, skid-steer loaders, slasher mowers etc.
· Undertaking daily maintenance of weighbridge, equipment, plant, buildings and amenities.
· Operating the weighbridge.
· Handling and responding to all incoming enquiries (face-to-face/telephone)
· Completing administrative tasks, including banking reconciliation, financial transaction reporting, etc.

About You:
You will hold:
· Certificate III in Waste Management or have equivalent relevant experience and willingness to complete the Cert III.
· Relevant certifications for operating minor and major plant items where applicable (e.g. forklift licence, compactor, excavator etc).
· A current WHS Construction Induction Certificate (white card).
· A current and valid HR driver’s licence.
In addition, you’ll bring demonstrated experience in the use of plant equipment, customer service and administration tasks. Previous experience in weighbridge operations is highly regarded. You have existing knowledge of waste facility operations and are accustomed to working in this environment. In addition, you are a competent communicator and possess strong time management skills, computer literacy and dedication to your work.
Importantly, you have an ability to work a rotating roster which includes weekends.
