And whether we’re creating policies, plans or partnerships, the people of Kempsey Shire are our top priority.We have around 365 dedicated staff across many sites who manage $1.1 billion worth of assets and lead and work with our community to build an inspired, connected Macleay Valley.With a huge range of roles on offer, we look for people who’ll put Kempsey Shire at the heart of all they do and champion our values of passion, integrity, innovation, communication, respect and collaboration.About the RoleWe are currently seeking an experienced Engagement Officer to join our vibrant Communications and Engagement team.Reporting to the Communications and Engagement Manager, the Community Projects Officer – Engagement works in the Communications and Engagement Team to:support and deliver community engagement planning, implementation, and evaluation,develop and implement Council’s community engagement strategies and tools,enhance community understanding of Council's decision-making process.What you will be doing: Work with internal teams to develop, implement and monitor engagement campaigns for identified projects, policies and plans.Support the development and implementation of Council’s Community Engagement Strategy and its associated plans, procedures and toolkits.Use data and analytics to evaluate engagement results and improve processes.Provide timely analysis and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.Assist in building capacity and skills for public participation in decision-making within the organisation. For a full list of the Key Accountabilities of the role, please refer to the Position Description. About You: The Successful CandidateTo be successful in this role, you should hold tertiary qualifications in Community Development, Public Relations, Social Science or other relevant fields and/or demonstrated work experience relevant to the role. You should be able to demonstrate recent experience in a team environment in community engagement or a related field, developing, monitoring and implementing community engagement plans and processes. You should possess highly developed written and verbal communication skills, strong judgement and problem solving in communicating information to a diverse audience.
