What you will be doingFulfil the obligations contained within the Funding Agreement from the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund (BLERF).Work inline and meet targets/outcomes of the BLERF Landholder Engagement Program.Biosecurity Information System (BIS) Reporting Monthly.Provide services relating to weeds as prescribed by the Biosecurity Act 2015 and Council’s policies and Procedures including administration, implementation and enforcement.Undertake inspections of private properties in accordance with the Biosecurity Act 2015 & Provide high quality technical advice to property owners.Investigate reports of new infestations of TSA.For a full list of the Key Accountabilities of the role, please refer to the Position Description.About You: The Successful CandidateTo be successful in this role, you should possess the following:/ If successful in attaining the role you will be provided with:Certificate IV in Conservation & Land Management, or Diploma Conservation & Land Management or similar discipline, or demonstrated experience at an appropriate level to competently carry out the position’s tasks.Hold and maintain a current NSW manual Driver’s Licence.Chemcert AQF level 3 qualification is desirable.Qualification in the safe use of four-wheel drives and side by side vehicles is desirable.Proven ability to understand and assess complex technical issues, and write clear, concise reports that provide recommendations based on this assessment.Highly developed written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills including problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution.Demonstrated high level computer skills including Geographic Information Systems and Microsoft office applications.The successful candidate approaches their work with enthusiasm and is driven to make a difference.For more detailed information on the requirements of the role, please refer to the position description.Benefits of working for Kempsey Shire CouncilIf successful in attaining the role you will be provided with:Temporary 6-month position, 35 hours per week with 19-day monthWeekly salary of $1,227.90 to $1,341.75 (plus 11% superannuation)A focus on wellness including flexible work arrangements and rostered days offHealth and wellbeing programsEAP programs for you and your immediate familyA fantastic lifestyle and work life balance, on the beautiful Mid-North CoastFor further information regarding this role please contact Jack Dickey on 02 6566 3200.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaPlease note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
