With 360+ dedicated staff managing $1.3 billion worth of assets across many sites throughout the Shire, KSC work closely with our community to build an inspired, connected Macleay Valley.Your New Role: As the Property Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Property Coordinator in various aspects of Council property management; including leasing, licensing, maintenance coordination, and administrative tasks. Your primary responsibilities will include:Supporting the Property Coordinator in the coordination of leasing and licencing services, including site inspections, valuations, surveying, renewals, fees, invoicing, and other associated administrative tasks.Providing support in the coordination of routine and reactive maintenance and compliance of council-owned and managed land and key assets managed within the property portfolio (swimming pools, sports buildings, RFS & SES depots, commercial sites etc).Administering lease and licence documentation, including expressions of interest, public notices, templates, receiving applications and coordinating the update, execution and filing of legal documents.Providing administrative support as it relates to engaging contractors and provide other project support when required, including procurement, contract management, and monitoring safety and environmental controls.For a full list of the Key Accountabilities of the role, please refer to the Position Description.About You: You hold:Minimum Cert IV qualifications in a relevant field and/or proven equivalent experience in project management, commerce, business, property & facilities maintenance or otherwise relevant area.Workcover Construction Induction card, or ability to obtain; andCurrent and valid drivers licence.At Kempsey Shire Council, we look for people who’ll put Kempsey Shire at the heart of all they do. Ideally, you will bring a sound understanding of licence and lease agreements, property fundamentals, and building maintenance. Additionally, you are able to demonstrate the ability to work independently, prioritise tasks effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Proficiency in computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications, together with a willingness to learn and adapt to new software is essential.
